We Believe Agency was born out of the need to find adequate Adult services for our oldest daughter that is diagnosed with Mild Intellectual Disability.  We personally experienced the barrier to finding providers that were a good fit for Kelli as well as proving to be reliable and earning our confidence that she would be treated as if she were their daughter.  There was a strong need for us to not only provide adequate services to our daughter but to serve this population on a level that not many providers can relate to, so we applied to DODD for Agency certification.

 

In April of 2017, our application was approved, so Kelli and I set out each morning to the facility that I had secured as our Day Program location and we structured a schedule around her Individual Support Plan.  In a short amount of time we were able to add other Participants and I hired our youngest daughter to come to work at the agency to further assist in our continued growth and then our son joined the team within a year which further promoted growth.  Today, just 7 years later, we are serving dozens of individuals from our county and nearby counties and have an exceptional team working with us who share our heartbeat and continue our vision for We Believe Agency.

 

The agency may have started as a family effort, but today our family has grown to include many people who do not share our DNA but understand the calling they have to serve this wonderful community.  We Believe Agency stands apart from other organizations in that we see the person as a whole, which includes their loved ones and natural supports and embraces the team atmosphere.  We strive to bring awareness to the community that life can be fuller if they are intentional about building relationships with the neighbors that they don’t normally get to see in typical settings.
